JLayerCheck is a tool to check module dependencies in Java programs.
You can define groups of packages that should be a module and the allowed dependencies between the modules and the program will generate HTML output that shows an overview, which architectural violations were found, and generates HTML files containing the syntax-highlightes Java sources, where the problematic lines are marked.
Recently an eclipse plugin was developed, that makes it easy to use the architecture checking during development. Markers are automatically added to the lines that violate your defined architecture.

The following image shows the Swing GUI that can be used to inspect the incoming and outgoing dependencies of modules, packages and classes. You can move classes into other packages and see how the dependencies change. Dependency violations are marked in red.
